More than welcome, @Jazzhead ... Even though I probably only agree with you ten percent of the time, I'm glad you are here.
You are especially welcome on social issues when I start to get a little glad people can't reach me through cyberspace because so many of those neanderthals start grabbing up their torches and pitchforks about people they don't understand and hate.
Why is disagreement, even disgust, so often called "hate"?
I frequently disagree with people but don't hate them. Some disgust me--still not hate, often more akin to pity, but not hate.
When people do things that are sure to lead to them being miserable even though they might appeal in the moment, is it "hate" to try to persuade them to do otherwise? Or is that more going against the flow to be compassionate in the long run?
One thing I
do hate is the way that believing something is patently wrong and expressing that has been characterized by the Left as "hate".
