And then we have one more true Conservative in the Senate that will work to squash the quasi Liberal idiocy of Mitch McConnell and actually work to get us back to adhering to the Constitution like we should.
That's what.
Moore is no true Conservative - he's a religious troglodyte who's twice been removed from his position as a judge for defying the rulings of other courts.
And Mitch McConnell is no Liberal - he's a pragmatic conservative with the ability to whip 90 percent of his caucus to support legislation that the President will sign, but without the remaining 10 percent has no accomplishments to show for it.
It appears that Moore will join the disloyal 10 percent, as one who demands perfection be the enemy of the good. It is what it is, I guess, but too damn many conservatives will happier when they return yet again to backbencher status. The stress and responsibility of governing is simply beyond this bunch.
President Trump may be on the verge of changing the dynamic, now that he's beginning to recognize that working with the GOP caucus alone is a fool's errand. Will tax reform be different? Will the GOP set aside its civil war for the good of the nation (and conservatism)? I doubt it - we're just instinctive backbenchers and always will be.
I had such high hopes for this Congress. But if it's time to move on, I stand with the President.
