Ted Cruz on Tax Reform
« on: September 27, 2017, 06:51:25 pm »
I heard this this morning on the drive in and was struck by the clear coherence of the arguments.

Cruz on taxes: Needs to be an unapologetic, serious tax cut  http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/5590435931001/?#sp=show-clips

Cruz: Use tax reform to repeal Dodd-Frank   http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/5590433501001/?#sp=show-clips

What we need is a tax code that does not lend itself to politicization!  Unlike the Marxist income tax we currently abide!

Don't be fooled by the GOP's doubling the standard deduction...
they also plan to eliminate personal exemptions and the extra
standard deduction for seniors.

Any minute Trump will be speaking about the GOP tax cuts for the wealthy...
and of course the stock market is going up... they love it.

I'm all for the markets going up!  What I'm against is retaining a tax system endorsed by Karl Marx himself and calling that "Reform"!

The DEVIL is in the details we are not being told... like how the GOP plans to eliminate personal exemptions and the extra senior standard deduction. That plus increasing the lowest rate from 10% to 12% will throw many of the non-rich under the bus.

I happen to think that the federal government shouldn't even know how much we make.

Trump just said the new GOP standard deduction will be  $12,000 single / $24,000 couple...
that is NOT doubling the current 2017 standard deduction of $6350 single / $12,700 couple
or the projected 2018 standard deduction which is $6500 single /  $ 13,000 couple

Trump failed to mention the GOP plan to eliminate personal exemptions and extra senior deduction.

Sounds like he rounded up from 1.9 to 2(double) How many significant digits do you think he can handle?

lol

Don't let Trump's sometimes goofy manner fool you... he knows exactly what he is doing.

Trump did not say whether or not  this arbitrary $12000/$24,000 standard deduction will the adjusted annually for inflation. Maybe it will be like Reagan's 1983 "tax cut" that turned out to be a new tax on Social Security based on an arbitrary $25,000 income that was NOT set up to be adjusted for inflation and is now a burden to all seniors.

Good grief ... yes, you've posted this before, but do you have a link that substantiates what you are claiming?
