323.95 million are responsible for this mess. We gave the 545 power and cheer them on.
Yes, we give 535 members of Congress power. It is the president who selects the justices and select members of the Senate judiciary committee who give approval and can call for the full vote of the Senate (100 members). In part, it is this power of the presidency that IMHO gave Trump the seat in the oval office over Hillary. The other side of the problem lies with people like McConnell. McConnell along with the NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) raises money to ensure incumbents retain their seats against their challengers (such as TEA) and raising money against the opposing party seems to be secondary. The corrupt powers of the leadership in the Senate and House and the power of "select committees" shouldn't be overlooked; and yes, they keep getting re-elected...however I believe the tremendous amount of money and the power that they hold has a significant impact on the outcome of elections.

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
