Watch this robot use nunchucks, after learning like a human student would

By Edd GentSep. 25, 2017 , 12:10 PM

In an era of heightened fears about killer robots, teaching them martial arts may seem unwise. But researchers have now shown a robot how to flip nunchucks to demonstrate an intuitive approach for teaching complex manual tasks.

learning like a human student would

That would involve hitting itself in the back of the head, causing blackouts, tunnel vision and concussions.

Naw,even *I* knew enough to wear a full-face motorcycle helmet while learning. Anybody who isn't smart enough to do that has nothing to lose anyway.

I resemble that remark...

Even worse, learning behind the barn when nobody knew this teenager was back there learning.  My one (and only) experience with real tunnel vision.

16" Brazilian hardwood, ball bearings with chain, really, really hard...

@GtHawk

I was 18. The only reason I would have needed a cup was to keep from breaking the nunchucks.

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

@Suppressed

Well,they're not likely to be any worse than our current robotic overlords,are they?

Who knows,with the updated software,they may even be semi-human?
