I was originally going to post this in California, but I think the little guy deserves more attention, so this is a Current Event if the mods allow.

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (KTXL/CNN) – The grandmother of an 8-year-old boy is grieving after he was beaten to death with a hammer while trying to protect his young sister from molestation.

Dante Daniels, 8, never made it to his second day of third grade. Early in the morning of Sept. 1, investigators say his mother’s ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Deandre Chaney Jr., attacked Dante with a hammer.

Chaney Jr. murdered the 8-year-old while the man was engaged in the crime of committing a lewd act on Dante’s 7-year-old sister Danae, according to a criminal complaint.

Investigators say at some point, Chaney Jr. turned a hammer and knife on Danae, as well as the children’s mother, 28-year-old Elizabeth Salone.

The complaint alleges Chaney Jr. also used lighter fluid.

Just heartbreaking.   The four your old got a strong heart.

Mother probably will never see out of her left eye again and the little girl "is going to need a lot of help."

Times such as these I am sorry that we live in a "civilized" society.  I would rather see an uncivilized response to the POS that brutalized this family.

There truly are monsters running around pretending to be humans these days.  I guess it has always been this way, but lately (over the past 10-20 years).... it seems to be getting a lot worse.

The child is already in Heaven... but the perp is on his way to the proverbial 9th circle of Hell.  Small consolation, but at least some comfort.

Nothing is more scary to little children than hearing, "Children, meet mommy's new boyfriend." That sentence has led to a lot of pain.


It is common for child molesters to target women with young children for "dating", when it is not 'mommy' they are really interested in.


Lesson: Never date anyone with a neck or a face tattoo. A neck/face tattoo is openly broadcasting, "I AM TROUBLE!" She should have heeded the warning. Anyone who comes into your home with a tattoo like that, you can be sure that some kind of trouble is coming in right behind them.
