McCain: Trump hasn’t apologized for POW crack

Arizona Sen. John McCain insists​ ​​his vote against a GOP plan ​to repeal​ ObamaCare ​is not payback for ​Donald Trump ​demeaning​ the former POW’s heroism during the Vietnam War​​ when the president remarked, “I like ​people who weren’t captured.”

“If I took offense at everybody who has said something about me, or disparaged me or something like that — life is too short. You’ve got to move on,” McCain, a Navy pilot who spent more than five years in a North Vietnamese prison, told CBS’s “60 Minutes”​ in an interviewed that aired Sunday.​

“And on an issue of this importance to the nation, for me to worry about a personal relationship, then I’m not doing my job,” the senator added.

Trump should have said, instead, "I prefer people that did not give the enemy what they wanted while captured, like making propaganda tapes".  That would have shut McCain the hell up.  I've heard the propaganda tapes he made back then.   He's a damned sell-out.... in every way possible.

When I went through my air force school they told us that anyone can be broken.  So I don't begrudge things he may have been forced to do in captivity.

I begrudge the fact that he allowed the lie that he was a "hero" to continue to be claimed.  He was no hero.   He was just being true to his sellout nature, IMO.

It was determined the Forrestal incident wasn't his fault, but I get your point.  Folks are torn about McCain...we detest his actions, but there's still compassion for his family because of the cancer.  I like how somebody on FB put it:  "His treasonous behavior sorely tries my compassion."

Ok ... so that's the real reason for gaining media attention and stating that he has a poor prognosis (of which he's known about) ... to dig at conservatives, people who refused to vote for him and to make people feel sorry for him and stir the pot again regarding Trump's comment.  I hope Trump doesn't apologize.  Perhaps it's time for McCain to make peace with the families of those he left behind and his maker instead of continuing to try to wreak havoc on the GOP.
