And ... to make matters worse, the Dude monitors the Cowboy game last night.

I didn't like it but Jerry Jones came up with a pretty good solution.  He wants his Black players to love him, and I think they do, so he had a solidarity kneel with everyone BEFORE the National Anthem.  All players then stood for the Anthem.

But the crowd didn't like it.  I wish I could have screen grabbed the fans, mostly white good ole boys and girls and contrasted it with the players.

But Trump takes it as a victory for him and woke up twitching.  Following is from a Dallas Morning News story:

"President Trump pointed to the booing at Monday night's Dallas Cowboys game as evidence the public is with him in his attacks on professional athletes who don't show enough respect for the flag and the national anthem.

"Great anger," Trump tweeted Tuesday morning, calling the boos at the sight of Cowboys kneeling before their game the "loudest I have ever heard."

And he lauded the team for standing at the national anthem -- and prodded the NFL to ban such demonstrations.

His early morning tweet storm began by highlighting the boos when the Cowboys, including owner Jerry Jones, knelt before their game in Arizona -- a show of solidarity with NFL players who protested Trump's attacks."

This Cowboys thing was a golden opportunity to STFU.  In saying anything, he acknowledged that he saw it.

Which they can do on their own time.  Nobody tunes into a football game to get the latest political opinions of the players.  Mixing up politics with entertainment is a sure fire way to get half your audience to hate you.   


They are at work.  How many of you could bring your politics to work and shove it in your customers faces,  and your bosses would be okay with it?

The government should not be sponsoring or subsidizing any business like this.  Taxpayers, for example, forked over 1.2 Billion for Cowboy's stadium, yet the team is worth almost 3 Billion dollars.

Well, I agree with you on that, particularly since they built it in Arlington when it should have been downtown.

City Councils think that the money the teams bring to the city are worth it. 

It's not federal funds, it's all local.  And you didn't pay a penny for the Cowboy stadium unless you life in Tarrant County.

The kneeling before the Anthem was just trying to have things both ways and it fell flat.  I just saw a photo on TV, and all they show is the snapshot of the kneel, not the standing for the Anthem.  That's the photo op.
