"Index of U.S. Military Strength" Essay, Focus on Space

Washington, D.C.–The Heritage Foundation’s Center for National Defense has released its fourth essay in a series by noted defense experts in the lead-up to the annual release of Heritage’s “Index of U.S. Military Strength,” Thursday, Oct. 5.
In this essay, Dean Cheng, The Heritage Foundation’s senior research fellow for China’s political, security, and space affairs, tackles the challenge of characterizing the space domain, explaining how its attributes affect the design of systems placed into space, the use of space to achieve security objectives, and the criticality of space to the broad spectrum of human activity.
