Well, they weren't very good conservatives if all it took was some quip by Ann Coulter to turn them.

I don't think most normal sane people have "being a goodie two shoes conservative" as one of their life goals. Or  mindlessly believing every aspect of the conservative cause.

OK, and what does that have to do with my statement?  There's a lot missing between what I said and this.

Ann Coulter is probably responsible for more people turning liberal than any other conservative. She's a disgusting woman.

Completely agree and I often wonder how many of these characters are willingly playing that role so they can be hoisted up the flagpole by liberals as an example. They create the perfect monster to rally against.

It does suck getting overwhelmed by a bunch of ovine bleep, individuals who sold their political souls for a bunch of lies and angry populist tweets.

I guess Stephen King has gotten a lot of attention lately, so maybe that's why Ann reminds me of Nadine Cross, from The Stand.  "Your seed is cold."

Too late, my dear.  Much too late.   :chairbang:

I like free trade and open borders, so I never agreed with the old Trump (or Ann Coulter) on immigration and nativism.  In one sense, I am thrilled that Trump is backtracking on this particular issue.  Also, I am hopeful that renegotiating NAFTA and other trade deals will ultimately result in even fewer trade barriers, especially those imposed by other countries against us.  But with Trump, who knows?  One thing I am certain of is that with Trump you have to ignore all the rhetorical foreplay and focus in on the actual policy.  In this one instance (DACA) it is not a policy I am all that uncomfortable with, though I am probably in the minority on this board.  I was uncomfortable with it being done by executive action, but I am not uncomfortable with congress doing it.

It is a good example of Trump going back on his word, and some may wish to gloat about that.  But not me.  I only voted for him to be better than Hillary, and watching Hillary this week convinces me I was not wrong in that regard.

Coulter's book, In Trump We Trust, may have convinced some weak minds who view talking heads' words as gospel to go for Trump.  I'll never forget that she said Trump could do abortions in the White House for all she cared, as long as he built the wall.

She deserves to have regrets and recriminations eat her alive.

I too am very glad that Hillary is not in the Whitehouse, but I sure would have preferred an ethical Constitutionalist to Trump.

My problem with NAFTA and all the so called free trade agreements is that they weren't about free trade.  They were about sucking as many jobs and money out of the US.    Along with it goes our intellectual property.  We are giving away every advantage we have and getting nothing in return.

And yet you lost to those losers.  Gosh that must suck

HAHAHAHA! What's funny is, I didn't lose anything. Beside the fact there is another liberal sitting in the White House, and yet another cycle goes by without leadership in the feckless GOP. But hey - All that was true before the election.

Um.... unless you actually enjoy and prefer the "undrained" swamp of corruption that we have ....

you lost too.... since....

NOTHING has been done, to date, to 'drain the swamp' that Trump so proudly (per usual) proclaimed that he would accomplish doing ... while implying that he would also go after Hillary: lock her up.   Remember?

It should be occurring to any Trump fans right about now.... that they not only have been played...

they played themselves.

But it didn't stop her from declaring anyone who opposed Trump for any reason "traitors", "Marxists", "Liberals", "Liars", etc etc etc.....

Exactly.  I'd say that she clearly abandoned principle simply to "get revenge" on the left, but I'm not really sure that she has any principles at all.  She proved that to me when she attacked the Tea Party protesters many years go....

If the President continues on this current path, then we are all losers.  Regardless if we supported him in the primaries, or if we supported another candidate.  Yet, I see you are more interested in gloating about the hollow victory, than working together to push Trump in a direction that makes us all winners.

It is rather interesting.
