    Syrian had only been granted asylum a month before he launched the attacks

Here is one example of where the government would have done better to let the guy go.

Now, he has to be tried and imprisoned (for a little while), after which he may still be IN Britain and back out on the street.

The guy was fleeing? Trying to get out of the country?
Why STOP him?
Why not be rid of him?
