Trump dealing with Democrats because Republicans lack a 'governing majority'

Rep. Dave Trott, R-Mich., said Thursday that Republicans are being forced to deal with Democratic demands — and even Democratic deals with President Trump — because Republicans don't have enough votes themselves to dictate federal policy.

Trott, who is retiring at the end of the current Congress, said even though Republican majorities, in theory, give them control of the House and Senate, the GOP is split, which is why Democrats are able to have a big impact.

"People that say, well Congress, why is it acting this way, and why can't the speaker stop this?" Trott said on MSNBC. "I have a little news flash for everyone. We don't have a governing majority in Congress."

What the real problem is is that we don't have congressional leaders that say 'McCain, if you screw us on this vote I'll put someone else as the head of your committee(s) and close that military base in your state that we really don't need.' That and say screw it to any 60 vote requirements in the Senate that block bills.

But we don't, because they're too scared.

That said, if we're gonna deal with the Dems, then they need to get the turd and we the gold. We've had decades of swampy Establisment capituation, we have no luxury for more.
