Interim White House communications director Hope Hicks will take over the job permanently, according to reports Tuesday morning.
Hicks took over the role on a temporary basis in July after short-lived Anthony Scaramucci was removed from the post after less than two weeks.
Hicks served as press secretary for Trump's campaign and has since worked as an aide to the president. Her desk at the White House is located just outside the Oval Office, and a Bloomberg reporter said she plans to remain at that physical desk.
The 28-year-old worked for the Trump Organization prior to her campaign work, including with Ivanka Trump's fashion company.
