You still seem angry with individuals here who voted for Trump. So, you're angry with me? Someone you don't know.

I'm not upset with NeverTrumpers because the didn't vote for Trump – obviously because he won – I'm upset with one issue only: personal insults to long standing members here. That's it. That's the whole ball of wax.

Everybody's got a different opinion and alliances can shift depending on specific topics or issues. We all get that. But, no one here deserves to be personally insulted; it's against common curtesy and forum rules.

Hahahahahaha!!!  You are rewriting history and painting the T-cult as angels and the NT ppl as devils.  That is just false.  The war started before Trump even won the primary.  it was back when other candidates were slandered by Trump and his cult, dragged through tabloid trash and given childish labels in order to elevate Trump.  Now it is time for a whole lot of WE TOLD YOU SOs because Trump is stabbing you in the back on what were supposedly your pet issues.  Are you honest enough to admit it?  Of course not.  I can guess why.  Why?  Because you worship Trump above all issues.

I can only speak for myself.  I left because the rules changed.  As soon as Trump won I was told to shut up.  There was no reason for me to stay if I could not say what I really thought.  I never wanted to be a cheerleader.   It appears that some brave souls stuck it out and held their ground.  I'm proud of them and come back to read their comments from time to time.  I was willing to fight the Trump cult.  I was unwilling to fight everyone else or get edited by the new thought police.  This thread reminds me that I made the right decision.

The day you hear me preaching directly to you, you have my permission to slap me down, question my ancestry and curse me out. Howzat?

Poppa here don't preach.

He wasn't the only one I recall making that observation. But, while I don't agree, I could see how someone new might come to that conclusion if in his short stay here he only interacted with a few of the more strident NTs. You folks know who you are.
Because nearly all Trump sycophants have engaged in the meme that if you do not support Trump, you are not a Conservative and you are a Hillary supporter.

So the fact this site has vocal Conservatives who point out Trump is not a Conservative, and catalogue that fact, the knee-jerk reaction from aforementioned sycophants is that we are Leftists, because the concept that we are governed by principles and not devotion to a man or party is beyond their comprehension.

Their problem.  Not ours or this site's.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

All you have to do is file a post report when you feel insulted..I guarantee you several MODs will look at it. What we don't like is when someone else reports it...we feel if it doesn't bother the person it was intended for it doesn't bother us.

LOL  It's the texture I don't like, although there is something wrong about bread that is sweet that isn't a pastry.

@CatherineofAragon

Yeah. Cept hush puppies. They're heaven.

@roamer_1

Hush puppies are okay.  At least I like them, which is more than I can say for grits and sweet tea.

And yes, I am born and raised Southern.  I just have a heretical streak.

@RoosGirl

I like my cornbread non-sweet.  Jiffy mix might as well be yellow cake.

Back to the topic at hand (because I really don't want to read 15 pages of squabbling)-

Does no one find it disturbing that the 'new normal' is to assume that Democrats can handle crisis spending and management better and thus, they are the ones we must deal with for important issues?

The Republicans had a spending plan that included hurricane relief that did not give a blank check for all future spending (removing debt cap).

But here we are, now just blindly assuming the answer to any problem is government getting involved on a massive scale and spending massive amounts and handing the keys to the Democrats who are the kings at over-spending and wasting 90% of what goes in.

Somehow people's hatred of Paul Ryan is resulting in handing Nancy Pelosi the keys and assuming she is a better driver.
