Anyone care to comment about the often quick disappearances of newly arrived members who happened to have been Trump supporters?

We get lots of new members, some very bright and articulate. Yet, many make a quick exit once they go a few rounds with our resident NTs. That is disheartening.

@aligncare

Probably the pack mentality they face here.  Where anyone that doesn't condemn every breath Trump takes is set upon.  Not unlike a mirror image of TOS.  Only here they don't get booted just told they are whining if they engage the moderators.

Who, specifically, made a quick exit?  Also, who is to say they won't come back.  You did.

With so many Trump detractors here I notice when supporters show up, and notice when they go silent.

Kinda like the sound of one hand clapping; the silence is deafening.

Well that certainly explains @stephen50right disappearance, that boy had such a bright future, in the beginning,
then he went all Trump on us.

He posted a whole page of blank space, then "Poof!" gone in a puff of white.

I don't think there was much discussion about pies before then, but there sure as heck was after.  I'll have to scroll back and review.

Now, that thread yesterday...THERE was a pie thread.

After I posted that, I was that I was going to have to go thru TWO PAGES + to catch up.    I almost deleted it when I saw that...knowing what was going to follow.

I look at it more objectively @driftdiver the AT'ers usually can tolerate the Nt'ers and vice~versa, and there is the majority of Briefers that are in neither camp, it makes for a very lively Forum.

I can count on one hand the vehement anti-Trumpers, as easily as I count the rabid Trump defenders.

It's sad that some want to diminish the entire site on the basis of one or two kooks.

Well.... I guess I haven't noticed that many "Trump supporters" showing up here.  I've noticed one recently and that's about it.

Again, who...specifically, came, saw and left?  Can you make your case...

or not?

"Set upon?"

I saw no small number of alleged facts one poster had wrong. Citing sources, I set the record straight on some of that. We do that all the time, here. If someone is consistently ill informed, they might see that as hostile, but it isn't. It's just setting the record straight.

Is that "set upon"?

The ATs were bad during the election but have calmed down significantly.  Sure there is still an occasional post that's pure propaganda but far fewer.  Now it's the NTs who can turn every single thread into a cesspool with a comment about the wall or some such garbage.   I know the NTs froth at the mouth with the comparison but i really dont care.  I have no interest in fighting an election thats done.  Its time to look forward and do better next time.   People who cant / wont move past it are hurtiing America and can go to Hell.

Now, remember the complaint was about the pie discussion.  If people felt a "pack mentality" from all the pie talk, maybe they're too sensitive to post here or anywhere.  They should just stay off of the internet if they're that sensitive.  I feel badly for them.

However, if I remember right, Myst cleared up the "intent" and that being disruptive to the general discussion on the thread versus meandering topic of conversation that isn't meant to disrupt and won't lead to a thread being locked?  I can see a difference.

Well, maybe it was where I had picked up the thread since my last visit.

I suddenly find myself reading the same 3-4-5 people nipping at her, belittling her, etc..

When it happens on a couple threads during the afternoon, "savage" works for me.

Seems to me .....those might be the vast majority of folks in America ....
