Fortunately there was not much at play here. Hurricane aid is a no-brainer, and the debt ceiling is an irrelevant kabuki theater whether extended three months or three years. So while the Dems think they really got something they really didn't.
I agree with article on the GOP's 'elaborate strategizing'. It's like they want to nibble at the edges, slow moving tiny steps, and play small ball jenga in hopes that some day, some way, they are going sneak up on the Dems and bring them down, like the 'sequester' deal.
