Next US ICBM Intercept to Use New Technology

    Scout Warrior - Sep 4, 9:40 AM

By Kris Osborn

The Pentagon’s next intercept test will incorporate new missile defense technology engineered to improve the likelihood that a Ground-Base Interceptor can succeed in destroying an approaching ICBM nuclear weapons attack.

Northrop Grumman is working with the Missile Defense Agency to refine new command and control systems able to exchange time-sensitive information with an interceptor kill vehicle to improve its ability to guide toward an attacking enemy ICBM.

Hopefully it works.

MAD for decades has kept enemy nuclear powers from annihilating each other. Now that Fatboy Jong is in the picture as well as the Ayatollahs from Iran, it's a different set of defensive priorities with these unpredictable enemies. Although it's likely that MAD is effective with them as well.

But just in case Fatboy has a bad hair day, and decides to launch, it's good to see under the Trump administration that our military is now getting the presidential support that it needs.
