Trump Adds Democrat to Tax Roadshow With North Dakota RallyBloomberg News, Sep 6, 2017President Donald Trump brought his pitch to overhaul the tax code to North Dakota on Wednesday with an unlikely guest in tow: the state’s Democratic senator, Heidi Heitkamp.Heitkamp, who is facing re-election next year, joined Trump along with the rest of the state’s congressional delegation at a rally in the state capital of Bismarck, as Trump argued his tax overhaul will be worthy of bipartisan support.Trump flew Heitkamp from Washington to North Dakota as his guest aboard Air Force One and praised her at the rally as a “good woman.” He added that on a tax overhaul, “I think we will have your support, I hope we will have your support.” Trump pointed to the support of congressional Democrats for the last major overhaul of the U.S. tax code under President Ronald Reagan and North Dakota’s history of cross-party support for reductions to the tax rate.“I want all of America to be inspired by what’s happened in North Dakota and the North Dakota example,” Trump said. “This state is a reminder of what can happen when we promote American jobs instead of obstructing American jobs.”More: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-06/trump-adds-democrat-to-tax-roadshow-with-north-dakota-rally
