I think it would require one of the states to refuse to certify some potential presidential candidate for the ballot because that person is not constitutionally qualified.

I can't find that that happened for either major party.  Lots of minor parties failed to get ballot access, but not because of the NBC argument.  I think it's often argued here as just another brickbat to be thrown at a candidate named "Cruz."

Obama does not meet my (or the constitutional) definition of NBC. But he at least was born in the USA. My def would the born in the USA to a US citizen father. But no matter how you cut it you must be born on US soil.

Anyone making the case for Ted, has to deal with the NBC thing, it is not going to go away. And it will cost him lots of votes. Conservative votes.

Let's assume for a moment that Obama was eligible and explore what that potentially means for our future with a hypothetical.  Let's say one of the Iranian mullahs married a woman who is unquestionably a U.S. citizen,  gets her pregnant,  and sends her back to her country to have the baby then moves them both back to Iran for the next 20 years and then sends them back to the good ole USA to live for the next 15 years.

If Obama was qualified so would that baby be.

That is the exact kind of thing the founders meant to prevent.

Wrong the naturalization act of 1934 granted citizenship to Ted Cruz.

The Equal Nationality Act of 1934 was an American law which allowed foreign-born children of American mothers and alien fathers who had entered America before age 18 and lived in America for five years to apply for American citizenship for the first time.

Prior to this act Ted Cruz would not even be a citizen of the USA so he is by definition a naturalized citizen. The law has been amended to make the process easier. I am still waiting to see Teds' Consular Report of Birth Abroad without which Ted is technically an illegal alien.
