'Vile and Contemptible': POLITICO Slammed for Publishing Cartoon Mocking Hurricane Harvey Victims

POLITICO is being criticized for publishing a tone-deaf cartoon mocking the religious faith and political views of Houston residents in the aftermath of the flooding. The cartoon, drawn by artist Matt Wuerker, depicts a family sitting on the top of a house amid rising floodwaters on the verge of being rescued by a helicopter. One of the people calls the helicopter an "angel, sent by God," to which the rescuer then sneers that he's in the Coast Guard and sent by the government.

Those on the left don't merely disagree. They are (by and large) completely consumed with irrational hatred toward anyone who isn't part of their clique. Thus, antifa. Thus, cartoons like this.

There's a lot going on in that single image besides promoting big government if you look closely.

For one, it depicts the Texan being rescued as a doofus wearing a cowboy hat.  And the heroes riding to the rescue are depicted as serious but concerned big government saviors.  There is more but that is picking nits.

Most importantly, I'd call it very very un-American worthy of a sharp punch in the nose.
