Finally. The Washington Times reports a conservative Christian media group has slapped the Southern Poverty Law Center with a defamation lawsuit after being listed alongside neo-Nazis and white supremacists on its “hate map.”

The reportage is a bit over the top, but the point is valid and needs to be stated often, loudly, and in ways that will seem more eloquent to the general public than the writing in this piece:  the SPLC has created the supposed increase in "hate" out of smoke and mirrors by abandoning its original mission of opposing racism and anti-semitism and redefining both the vocal support of traditional Judeo-Christian sexual morality and the accurate reporting of the precepts of sharia by non-Muslims as "hate".

Unfortunately, the SPLC has been parading the halls in DC and testifying and "educating" various federal agencies (including FLEAs) about who is "extremist" and a "hate group" since Randy Weaver was living peacefully with his wife and kids in Idaho. Yes, that long they have had the podium and the mike and been arm waving about evil militias and gun clubs and the like, oh, and churches, too.
They include enough real life dangerous whackos to give the whole shebang some credibility, but a lot of others get stuffed in with them who have no business being labelled as hate groups nor 'potential domestic terrorists'.

Alot of 'extremists' on their list are simply political opposition they'd like to get rid of.

When you set yourself at one end of the political spectrum, everyone on the other end is an 'sxtremist'. It doesn't help that the GOP has thrown Constitutional Conservatives and many Social Conservatives under the bus and decried us with regularity, despite the absence of hatred for anyone.

When wrong is commonplace, right is 'extremist'.
