CNN stepped on a rake with their Houston hurricane coverage, interviewing a mother who wasn’t having any of the network’s behavior concerning interviewing survivors at a shelter. The news network decided to set up shop in an evacuation center, interviewing those who have been picked up by rescuers from the rising waters. For this woman and her family, it was simply too much. It was unseemly. Did CNN really need to know what was wrong with these folks? Well, she let them have it [Warning: some strong language]:

I guarantee those interviews boost donations.  Accept the gift horse.

This is CNN: "Record Flooding in Houston; Women and Minorities Hardest Hit; Trump Link Probed..."
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

In the past people would have felt somewhat intimidated, honored, seeing an opportunity to be heard...

Now, the news media has lost all respect.

Really, no one should be there unless they are there to help.  That includes politicians too.  Don't go to a disaster to gawk or pretend like you really care and don't go there to campaign.

So, Wolf can only see black people?  When I look I see all sorts of shades, but mostly wet.  He's a bigot, and I don't say that lightly.

GWB was savaged for appearing 'too aloof' from Katrina's victims because he flew over rather than land and, presumably, rent a jet ski & begin picking up survivors.

I don't fault the politicians for going to disaster areas. But it definitely is in poor taste for some idiot to shove a microphone in some distraught victim's face. What will anyone learn from watching a mother cry? Thats not news.

Yeah I'd love to see a tradition made where politicians stay away for at least 10 days. Their visits are unnecessary and disruptive.

One exception I can think of was in 2004 when FL was hit by multiple hurricanes in a short period.  Bush was there and participated in handouts.  He was criticized for a debate performance against Kerry after working with relief crews all morning.

Yeah but it could land one of these yahoos a journalism award. Gotta pad that resume.

Man what a year.  Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.  My wife worked all 4 in FL and evacuated twice during Francis and Ivan.   Good times!

Beautiful!

Indeed!  I wish someone would do that to the local station jerks as well!

I guess Neil Boortz didn't appreciate her candor.   *****rollingeyes*****

Boortz is erratic. I once heard him go off on folks who complained to the FCC because some clown slipped porno video into their local football game broadcast.
