Figure that out all by yourself, did you?   Wow.  We are blessed to have your insights.

Trump's not a God? Does this mean I have to return those candles I bought in the image of Donald Trump I picked up on 57th Street? I don't think that street vendor has a return policy? Well, looks like I'm out 49 bucks.

Knowing you, you probably did buy those candles.

I see you went for seconds on that Orange koolaid.

Trump isn't battling the antifas or anything else; he's throwing them as much red meat as he's throwing his worshippers like you because he likes to be the center of controversy.

Has anyone ever successfully explained something to you?

eh, no... More like a political 'flaming bag of sh*t on the front porch'.

Ah, more deep thoughts and crisp political analysis from and for ten year old little boys.

Too bad it's so tiresome for adults.

Correct. He's just a man fighting his a$$ off for conservatism on nearly every major issue.....judges, immigration, military strength, taxes, free markets, etcetera. All you have in reply are silly postulations about Orange god's. First, grow up. Second, wake up. Finally, realize that most of us including the President are fighting like hell against Antifa, BLM, the media, a host of radically PC dems in congress and on campus....and we're using the army we have, not the one you wish we had. Trump fights. We are fighting. You are sitting on the sidelines claiming to be above it all because the rest of us are imperfect instruments...either dupes, lacking in moral narcissism, or just imperfect in your eyes. Well, that's easy...and cowardly...on your part. Grab a pair and get in the fight for once....or just sit in your "safe space" and deride those who are fighting back with president who is...yes...down in the mud battling the Left with all his might.

The obstruction against President Trump by the MSM, DEMS and RINO's is pretty obvious.  Those that don't see it, well, either don't care to or have their heads in the sand.

No, I don't believe Trump is a god, nor am I a huge fan, but he's standing up for some basic conservative principles.

I usually don't give much credence to what Graham has to say, but since he's speaking from a RINO's viewpoint, on this he may be correct.

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

How could a self described conservative making such statements attacking a Republican president, who is fighting for a conservative agenda against overwhelming establishment resistance, possibly be taken seriously on any political analyses?

Yes, which is more than can be said for you, judging by your performance on these boards over the last two years.  It's a shame the old you appears to be dead and gone.

That he is a Republican means less than nothing at all, his own conversion to your party being nothing short of political gender-dysphoria... And conflating 'Republican' and 'Conservative' has always been a grievous error, more so now than ever.

His 'conservative agenda' leaves much to be desired, it's conservatism being highly questionable. 'Repeal' vs 'Repeal and Replace' being an example, as is his waffling on immigration, which sounds more and more like 'Gang of 8' amnesty. In both cases, no doubt you will claim a 'win', which will be wholly and entirely against Conservatism, but in so-called conservatism's name.

The man himself is wholly indefensible... In every way.

That Republicans would require defense by Conservatives, especially after telling us we are not needed, or wanted, or right, is completely hilarious.

You've made your bed. So lie in it.

I've seen quotes by Reagan, by Goldwater, etc. that talk about reaching across the aisle and working with other people. That is also statesmanship.

Quote
Conservatism means clear common sense, which equally rejects the fanaticism of precedent and the fanaticism of change.  It would not have midnight last just because it exists; and yet it knows that dawn comes not in a flash, but gradually–comes with a grand and beautiful moderation.  So the conservative is the real statesman. He brings things to pass in a way that lasts and does good.

And we have a GOP Senate that is getting little done on important issues.

I'll go with Reagan's and Goldwater's words; they do have conservative cred. Respectfully, I'm not sure I see others coming from a Conservative viewpoint.

Oh, Reagan, that one time Democrat whom it has been uttered quite a few times, would not win the GOP nomination in the modern day.

C'mon tommie, you can mouth the words you're thinking:  Trump is nothing more nor less than the second coming of Reagan.

:bigsilly:

Reagan explained - convincingly - how his intellectual and philosophical development brought him from the democrat party to the Republican Party, and how the democrat party completed the process by leaving him (i.e., by moving left).

Trump has not done any such thing.  His "conversion" to the GOP was as grossly opportunistic as was Bloomberg's, and as devoid of thought as Reagan's was replete with thought.

I can offset what you say about Reagan but apparently, the mods don't like it. Reagan did some things that Trump never has done.

I don't need the condescending words; and apparently, you think that just stamping laughing emoticons on what others say is sufficient.

Let's see, Christians over there in Syria/Iraq are looking at Trump and supporting him, after the persecution they've been in since the 2003 invasion. I'll take that endorsement per Trump versus just stamping others comments with a funny.  Trump doesn't back down.

I defended Romney just as much and I believe that he not being elected; saw a lot of bad things happen over the past 4 years during Obama's term.  Especially in foreign affairs.

If Republicanism was putting Christians in the firing line in Iraq, open borders; well, perhaps Trump is returning the party to some conservatism right there.

Really, that this needs to be rehashed out again,  is mind boggling, one would think critics could come up with better on a daily basis.

His natural constituency....

who vote universally against any and every major initiative he's put forth.
who proclaim him the 2nd coming of Hitler/Stalin/Mussolini/Tojo all rolled into one.
who are fighting to impeach him at every turn.
who are condoning the sending of violent protest groups like Antifa/BLM to all of his rallies and events.
who universally hate and despise him in every conceivable way....an almost palpable and clearly visceral hatred.

Yes....sounds like a very "natural" constituency. Seriously, have you lost ALL perception of reality?

The man has done nothing but fight for the conservative cause since he walked in to the White House...worse, he's called the Left out for what they are (a coalition of deeply biased media, self inflated/interested dirty politicians, and radical nutjobs working to indoctrinate our campuses and shut down free speech with violence...as in Antifa/BLM)...and THAT is explicitly why the entire Left despises him in every way imaginable.

How anyone could have such a twisted misperception as to perceive that as a "natural" constituency demonstrates a disturbing ability to take the frightened ostrich approach to all political discourse.

Well, if you consider those same folk are jumping on the Lindsey Graham bandwagon, you might get a clearer picture of their mindset.

Sorry pal, but this Orange God of yours, lemme let you in on a secret: he ain't a god.

And if you had once, just once, paid attention to whom Trump supported when he wasn't trying to hoodwink republicans into supporting him, you'd realize that he has consistently backed democrats.  His kids couldn't vote for him in the NY primaries because they were still registered democrats, the same kids who are ensconced in the White House as his senior advisers.

Stop drinking the orange koolaid.

You are so predictable.

I agree.  I don't know what is in Trump's heart or what his core beliefs are.

I do know that since he was elected, he has done mostly things I like and agree with.

He has tried to do more things I like and agree with but been frustrated by Congress.  Congress who has been obstructionist and sit around and whine that Trump doesn't like them.  Well, I don't like them either and I think the 2018 elections are gonna show that a lot of people don't like them.

It is so easy for these jokers to fall back on their Orange jokes which haven't been funny for a long time.

Their criticisms usually contain nothing substantive about his presidency but rely on going to the way back machine about things Trump did in the past.

Why can't they discuss what he's done in his presidency?  Well, maybe because, if you leave out his annoying tweets, he hasn't done that much wrong.

Forces of real evil are fighting hard against Trump, along with their slimy allies in the press.

Taking cheap shots against Trump and agreeing with Lindsey Graham of all people is just so easy and posting stupid little icons is irritating.

And why is it do you think that no one knows what's in Trump's heart or what his core beliefs are??  Because his past has been that of a liberal and he has backpedaled on several key issues on more than one occasion.  The Freedom Caucus tried to help him with Bammycare and he jumped all over them; so what does that say about him?  I would say that attacking a conservative faction of his party as president is pretty substantial. The GOP continues to be divided ... he has a choice to work with the conservatives at his disposal or to continue to work with the RINO's.  Last I had read, he continues to leave some of the judges and others Bammy appointed in place.  I would think he would have drained that part of the swamp a long time ago.

Secondly, I'm sorry but as far as building that wall ... he signed a bill that did not allocate funding for additional wall now or in the future; yet he's claiming he'll shutdown the government to get the wall. So ... yes it is difficult to know at times what's truly in his heart.  If we should lose the majority in the House or Senate, which way will he lean then?

As did Reagan before him, he'll work with Republicans when he can...and Democrats when he must. A president has an obligation to govern, at some point that overrides partisanship and even ideology....practicality requires some compromise if a conservative president cannot muster sufficient support for his conservative goals. Would you have him close the government, lock the troops up in their bases, and let the roads-electric grids-infrastructure crumble entirely?
