Ryan breaks with Trump on Arpaio pardon
By Brooke Seipel - 08/26/17 05:36 PM EDT

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) disagrees with President Trump's decision to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday.

"The speaker does not agree with the decision,” Ryan's spokesman Doug Andres told The Wall Street Journal. “Law-enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. We should not allow anyone to believe that responsibility is diminished by this pardon.”

The White House announced on Friday the president would pardon Arpaio, who had been found guilty of racially profiling.

Arpaio was scheduled to be sentenced in October.

Trump's decision to spare Arpaio has stirred controversy on both sides of the political aisle.

Don't know how I feel about the pardon, but why should anyone care what this little twerp thinks?  Trump signed the pardon.  It's done.  Get over it.

So here's the headline:  "When Ryan isn't pushing old women off cliffs, he's throwing 85-year-old men in the slammer."

Why am I so unsurprised?

I can't understand Ryan and DeadMcCain getting upset that President Trump pardoned Joe Arpaio, when Obama freed Gitmo terrorists.

Notice how the republican Party now parrots the Democrat POV and talking points almost exclusively.  More proof the UniParty label fits.

They even just passed a resolution condemning 'White Supremacists" but no mention of Anitfa or BLM.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

They LOVE their damned swamp above all things!  Once you understand that fact everything falls right into place!  Destroy Trump at all costs is the order of the day.

Party affiliation has no bearing on it.

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

I agree with Ryan.. There is a thing called a Rule of Law.  So was it OK that Andrew Jackson ignored the Supreme Court?  Was it OK that Gov Faubus ignored the Supreme Court in the 1950's ? Arpaio could have appeal the ruling..

Since the contempt of court was because he defied a judge's order that he stop enforcing federal immigration law it seems to me that he could not justifiably be found in contempt.

Sorry, but when the court tells you stop doing something you stop doing it. He could have appealed the case, but maybe he was to busy looking for Obama's birth records.

So when the court tells us to turn in our guns, I guess you'll be first in line and hope to get them back on appeal?
