Should Your ADHD Adolescent Consider a Gap Year Before Attending College?
A gap year may be just what your ADHD teen needs to prepare for life's adventures and challenges.

Rather than setting off for college immediately after high school graduation, some adolescents prefer to take upwards of a year to explore life and consider career options. Many parents and experts are on board with this idea, also referred to as a “gap year,” with some people saying it can be especially beneficial if the person has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Back in my day we called  people who took time off "to find themself".... slackers who found out what the saying, "would you like fries with that" meant.

What matters is what you do with the time.  Most people could benefit from a gap year.
