Downtown, a couple of blocks from the old Cabrini Green. Was right next door to the big Chicago Bulls riots in the 90's. That clued me in right there.
Oh yeah. A mob gets ugly quick - and it's like a tornado - you never know who is gonna get clocked as it moves through.
I know you have significant political experience. As do I. Most people don't understand how hard it is get 100 people in a room for a political cause or even a candidate.
I did 10 years as a GOP precinct captain, my wife an election Judge. I got to see the machine of corruption in action. Hell I wasn't even in Vrdolyak's ward to get treated to the kinds of lovely ballot stuffing and swapped boxes on election night that happened out in the burbs by his party. The GOP wasn't much different. After Ryan got in trouble and Fitzgerald quit - I was done.
We have no idea how bad this is going to get at the rate it is being stoked and the amount of people flocking to their flag. But few want to hear about it. They suggest I get a beer, watch TV, smell the roses. I discern the spirit moving now in the country - and .... consequences of a lot of things are coming - and the mob is looking for targets to do their thing.
These are Presidential rally sized numbers all organized via the internet without any main draw. And these people are angry, armed, incited, and bristling for a fight.
I'm beginning to see the possible reasons why the GOP is cooperating with the Democrats and why Obama got a place just down the street from 1600 Pennsylvania. This wasn't random. This was EXACTLY like the Arab spring uprising in Egypt, Libya and the rest of the Middle East. Only now - they are pulling this shit here.
Now imagine if this 'rally' had went Berkeley and all these nutjobs started smashing, looting, beating, and burning. 40K people is a damn army capable of serious destruction. If that doesn't scare the living turd out of a person, they are a fool.
There are more fools than those with a solid head on their shoulders. People who think it is stupid to practice for fire and tornado drills, and never bother to look for the exit signs are always the ones to get wiped out in a disaster. The ones who survive are usually the ones who have anticipated what most people refuse to think about, and have a plan of action to save their lives. Sitting in shock while a conflagration is going on and panicking because they cannot believe it is happening is how most people die in a disaster.
Then there are those who ignore it, until the fire engulfs their front porch - and then it is too late for them.
And it's escalating, fomenting bigger and bigger. I'm seeing it here in Iowa, bigger and bigger crowds, and even several hundred for stupid minor issues that shouldn't draw more than 10 people. They are obviously being directed and told where to go, and they are following like sheep.
Yup. They have become self aware of what kind of power they now have, and the common enemy factor to rally tens of thousands (whiteness, white privilege, anti-fascism and anti-Trump and anti-Republican). Trump is just an easy target because he is soundly despised and hands them ammunition. The real target is Individualism, liberty, Conservatism and our foundational principles and heritage. It must all be erased, and the people with it.
And yeah, I am very afraid that many will get caught off guard by all this, and suffer for it. Hopefully not with their lives.
If history is any lesson to be learned, if the warnings from the Founders and from scripture have weight - we're in trouble beyond our ability to comprehend. And we're not even bringing up fiat currency or the debt. Imagine how this movement will affect any legislation or the budget.
Cities will burn if it is insisted that any restraint on spending is attempted. You know how that will be spun b the Democrats and the media.
