President Donald Trump and CNN reporter Jim Acosta had a tense exchange Monday afternoon regarding Trump's response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, with both accusing each other of being "fake news."
Trump spoke earlier Monday and condemned white supremacist groups like the KKK and neo-Nazis by name; on Saturday, in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville, he took sharp criticism for his initial statement condemning violence "on many sides."
After Trump signed a memorandum addressing China's intellectual property laws Monday, Acosta called out to ask why Trump did not condemn the groups by name over the weekend.
"They've been condemned. They have been condemned," Trump said.
