Man hit by gas round in viral video now faces charges for aggravated assault on police

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

The man seen in the 3TV/CBS 5 video getting hit with a non-lethal round after kicking a gas canister at officers was booked into jail Thursday night on four criminal charges, Phoenix police announced.

Joshua Stuart Cobin, 29, from Scottsdale, was booked on three felony counts of aggravated assault on police and one misdemeanor count of unlawful assembly.

According to Cobin's court documents, police state that he after he tried to kick the smoking canister at police, he it up and threw it at them.

Police go on to say in the documents that he later picked up a second smoking canister and threw that one at police as well, hence the three charges of aggravated assault.

He's a local, from Scottsdale, which makes him double-stupid because he knows Phoenix cops wouldn't take any shit off of him.  This ain't Baltimore.

I do hope that all of those arrested, if found guilty, do some jail time.  We can't combat this attack on the US unless these people are prosecuted and made to pay for their crimes.  There must be adverse consequences.  Otherwise, these terrorists will never stop.

Phoenix isn't a good place for protesters.  There were quite a few, but when the cops told them to scoot, they did.  Except for this idiot, they'll be throwing the book at him.  They don't take kindly to jerks throwing burning smoke canisters at them.  Plus, nobody knows who's carrying, a passerby may just be the one to put a cap in your ass if you start swinging a club at them.
