    A bill that would make female genital mutilation a crime in Maine is officially dead.

    Earlier Wednesday, a republican lawmaker came up with a change to the bill, and asked for another vote.

Why not introduce a bill to ban FGM at the federal level?

Should easily pass a Republican House.

The democrat/communists would try to block it with a filibuster in the Senate.
Would make the perfect candidate for a vote to eliminate the filibuster once and for all.
