This ranks up there with some of the most disturbing comments I heard him say...and with the audience he said it to.

Ummm....it was a joke.
Our society rushes to feel offended about everything these days.

Innocence until guilt has been proved is a fundamental American value.  This bully spits on American values  time and again, whether intentionally or not.

The comment was stupid to make from a position of authority too. It will give criminals who may have 'bumped' their head or claim brutality a piece of ammunition in their case by claiming this is an 'attitude' or directive that came from the very top, therefore, not an accident.

Some things should go unspoken. Yes, some criminals bang their heads getting in their cars 'on accident'. We don't need to give their lawyers any tools to claim otherwise.

/snicker

Yeah, the same daddy who made sure sonny-boy had millions to play around with.

Trump never worked a construction site in his life. Daddy might have made him stand outside the limo in the mud till he cried but its doubtful he ever did more than that.

His military service was far tougher.

Indeed it was a joke. An inappropriate joke, but seeing as this guy praised Dutuerte, this kinda thing makes a lot of people nervous.

Just Trump being Trump.

If you are expecting Trump to get "Presidential",  it ain't gonna happen. He's a goof. He's always going to be Trump. He's in the WWE Hall of Fame.

He's going to tell jokes he shouldn't tell as President. Barron has probably already told him to delete his Twitter account. Oddly, people loved Bill Clinton when he did this stuff as President

Claiming its a joke is just a go to excuse for his stupidity.

It reminds me of the local girl who got around when were were teenagers. She would tease the unwitting and then claim "Jokes, just jokes".

This will be referenced in every major police controversy.  Obama damaged the left by siding with rioters.  I guess Trump doesn't want to be outdone.

This ranks up there with some of the most disturbing comments I heard him say...and with the audience he said it to.    Maybe next he can suggest police egnore the Miranda and have police beat the truth out of the those arrested. We can solve a lot of crimes early that way don't you know.

Zero surprise that he said it.  Zero surprise that cops cheered.

Something isn't determined to be a joke or not usually happens later that day or the next, and varies depending on the audience.

  • If it ends up being embarrassing or negative- it was a joke.

  • If the audience whoops and hollers in agreement- it wasn't a joke, he was just saying what everyone things, not being PC, yadda yadda.

The same statement can fit both criteria.

Yep, that whole 'blue collar billionaire' story was a creation of Trump's in the early 80s when he was creating a persona. It is as real as a WWE character's back story. Some folks need to really read The Art of the Deal and not just quote the title. He pretty much admits to creating a myth (image) about himself that isn't real, but sells his product (name brand).

By his own admission and you can easily find this in old articles about him, he was pretty much sent off to private boarding schools at 13 and stayed in them up through college. The most he ever did with his father was follow him around while he collected rent.

No, but a black hole is black because nothing can come out of it.

A brown hole is brown because only one thing is coming out of it.

And the Trumpstsers cheer and amuse themselves with their favorite anti-PC excuse, "that's just Trump being Trump!" I'd like to remind everyone that the same excuse was used to ridicule Joe Biden for his stupid gaffes. See how that works? Trump excuse - good. Biden excuse - bad. Pure hypocrisy! We've lost our privilege to ridicule the left since we don't have the 'nads to ridicule the "right." (Or in Trump's case, "right" whenever he needs to sound conservative.)

Ummm....he's the President of the United States. His words carry weight that they never did when he was private citizen. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?

Failing to protect a suspected murderer's head from being bumped as he's loaded into a cruiser doesn't quite rise to the level of police violence. The president's words may have been unnecessary and silly, but it's an overreaction to say he was encouraging police violence, in my opinion.

True, but it provides more fodder to those who are already suspicious of police behavior. Leave it to Trump to stir the pot. I hear he enjoys the chaos. I'm guessing our law enforcement officers could do with a bit less of it.

Some things should go unspoken.

And they would had we elected an adult who had the wisdom to put a filter on what comes out of his mouth. Alas, we didn't. Not only that, we've got millions who like this about him. I remember in November 2016 after the election results were in and we learned that Obama had won a second term. I was horrified about what that said about the electorate. But my horror from that day dims in comparison to learning that my fellow travelers down the conservative highway were willing to put this undisciplined, quasi-conservative(ish), vulgar, dishonest blowhard into our White House. Obama's '12 win was as if my best friend's husband had been caught cheating. Trump's '16 win was as if my own husband had been caught cheating. The latter hurts far worse.

Yes, some criminals bang their heads getting in their cars 'on accident'. We don't need to give their lawyers any tools to claim otherwise.

True, but too late for that now. What's done is done. Such Trumpisms will come back up on us like a bad burrito.
