Gen. John Kelly Takes Command of White House Staff

Gen. John Kelly was sworn into office at the White House Monday morning, taking the position of White House chief of staff.

The ceremony was closed to the press, but photographers were called in afterward to mark the occasion.

When asked for comment, President Trump said Kelly was “fantastic” and would do a “spectacular job” in his new position.

Later in the morning, Kelly and Trump met with the president’s entire cabinet.

I wish him well.

This President desperately needs some structure and discipline.  Gen. Kelly COULD bring those to the White House and to the President himself, but I seriously doubt the President is capable of curbing his impulsiveness (which is the source of much of the defocus, drama, and off-messaging that comes out of the White House).  As a result, I just can't see this ending successfully for Kelly and this White House.  I hope I'm wrong.
