No ethanol gasoline is more available than most think.

https://www.pure-gas.org/

Local airports carry it too. I get mine at the Joliet, IL municipal airport.

In the Houston, TX area, those are places selling race fuel by the barrel, not a drive up pump.

Very true, and I wish they'd put more effort into it.

One of those is a large station we sometimes visit when going to rodeos.  Buc-Ee's
40900 Us Hwy 290, Waller, TX;

I didn't remember ever seeing that so a little research shows they have recently added it.  But at significant price increase.

Depends on your definition of "good".  Does yours include more toxic and more expensive?

Anyone know how they meet the EPA reformulated gasoline requirements with using ethanol or MTBE?

Bet a nickle the domestic auto makers were pushing like hell for this to pass so they could force more of their ballooning inventory on the public.

Corn producers, car makers, and engine manufacturers, are the beneficiaries of this ethanol bullshit, not the public or the 'environment' as they claim. It is just another of hundreds of political kickback schemes, which is run by the biggest most powerful mafia in America, politicians and Congress. Where I am, I have not been able to find any gas without ethanol in it. There is no choice but to buy it, whether you want it or not.

This is great news.

I want the cows that end up being steak on my table to be corn fed...not my car.

I think the Joliet airport sold me 5 gallons at about $3.35/gal

More than a dollar a gallon adder?  ouch!

I can buy a lot of ethanol treatment for that money plus the added drive to get it.

I just checked it out. There are two ethanol-free stations about 30 miles away. They are both in marinas which I doubt I would be able to enter. The next closest is 86.7 miles away.

So, thanks. You have shown me that it was not my imagination. There really is no ethanol-free gas anywhere near me.

What makes it all that much worse is my gas cap has a sticker on it which I see every time I open it. It says in red letters, DO NOT USE ETHANOL GASOLINE.

Sunoco and WaWas tend to have ethanol free gas, at least near me.    That site isn't always up to date so check around different stations.    Here its 50 cents more per gallon for the ethanol free gas.

Ethanol is nothing other then a agriculture subsidy.   It does not make environmental sense and it has cost us a tremendous amount of money for the subsidy and also for all of the damage ethanol has done.
You got it. If ethanol can not make it on it's own merits it is not worth having. The same with solar, wind, battery cars etc. Capitalism adapts pretty damn fast to changes. If gasoline becomes too expensive Capitalism will take care of the problem. If one form of energy becomes too expensive Capitalism will determine an alternative. Socialism tries to jam something down our throats with the results usually not being good. Capitalism looks at supply and demand. It can't sell things too expensively and survive. Socialism can sell expensive things and get the cost spread out through taxes.
