Trump considers Rudy Giuliani for attorney general: Report
by Melissa Quinn | Jul 24, 2017, 10:14 AM

President Trump is reportedly considering the idea of nominating Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City and an ardent Trump defender, to serve as attorney general.

Axios reported Monday Trump is exploring the possibility of tapping Giuliani, and the news comes days after the president has publicly expressed frustration with the current attorney general, Jeff Sessions.

In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times last week, Trump said he was angry with Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into ties between Trump campaign officials from Russia.

Did Jeff Sessions quit??

A lot of commentators have been saying Sessions' time is limited.  Perhaps this is confirmation?

Not fan Sessions, but I want someone who is neutral as an Attorney General and I don't think that Rudy will be.

If I were Sessions I would make Trump fire me.

Lots of rumors swirling that Tillerson's days are numbered too.

Which would be why Trump wants him.

It's the start of circle-the-wagons time.  Incipient Nixonian paranoia and all that.

Beck's topic of conversation this morning.

Who knows what this adds up to, one pundit questioned why Trump was telling this to the NY Times, a media he has spoken negatively of.  Could just be a headfake.

Would you settle for gender neutral?

I won't post the picture, we've all seen enough of it.

Would that be the kiss-fest between Trump and Giuliani in drag?

And warming up in the batters circle, 6 month rotation, is none other than Chris Christie.
Unfortunately the DOJ has become so politicized, I've lost all hope of impartiality.
On the bright side, anyone will probably be better than Ivanka.

I want an Attorney General who does not protect the President at all regardless of party. It was bad enough with Reno, Holder, and Lynch.

I imagine Christie is a bridge too far, even for Trump.

I was just thinking of Rudy in drag (boy does that sentence need to be taken in context!).  I didn't know there was any trump involved.

As far as I'm concerned an attorney general should be picked by other means than an appointment.

Here in MI our AG is elected and is completely independent from the governor and is sometimes from the opposing party.

Normally I would agree but right now the deep state is wagging a war on Trump trying stop his agenda and drive him from office. The AG is Trumps' biggest gun and Sessions has not fired a shot. Either Sessions engages the enemy or Trump will have to bring in a new AG.

Session recusing himself without consulting the White House over Russia was the dumbest move since HW broke his "read my lips" promise.

I thought it was wise by Sessions to recuse himself since he campaigned for Trump.

Sessions did exactly what a competent AG should have done.  The AG is not the president's personal attack dog.

Stop it with Deep State crap.  ....

Do you even know what is meant by Deep State? It was discussed during Reagan's terms. Not by that name.

There are literally thousands of unappointed career jobs held by those believing in big powerful costly government.

"Career civil servants." They wanted, expected a continuation of Obama. They are now doing what they can to minimize and block the impact Trump can have.

Not Alex Jones. Rather it is something Reagan pointed out. Namely there were/limits to what a President can do, with his/her partisan appointments.

"Career Civil Servants" are likely 90+ percent democrat. Washington DC and the suburbs vote heavily democrat.

Go a long-get along Republicans like Bush I and Bush II, did not threaten them very much. But Trump does threaten them.
"God must love the common man, he made so many of them.  Abe Lincoln

Giuliani says he's not being eyed for AG, backs Sessions's decision to recuse

By Rebecca Savransky - 07/24/17 03:09 PM EDT

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) is disputing a Monday report that President Trump had floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with Giuliani, according to CNN.

Giuliani told CNN that Sessions "made the right decision under the rules of the Justice Department" to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian election meddling, the source of Trump's reported ire with the top Justice Department official.

His comments come after an earlier Axios report said President Trump had raised the possibility of replacing Sessions with Giuliani. According to the report, Trump broached the idea in internal discussions.

LOL

I think the people around Trump are starting to recognize just how toxic he is.
