Screenshot of CBC News shows Nofa Zaghla [L], a Yezidi refugee who fled to Canada in 2017 with four of her six children, and a photo of Emad Mishko, her son, as shared on social media after he was rescued in Mosul. She thought that Emad was dead after they were separated about three year ago in Iraq when the ISIS group attacked the Yezidi community in August, 2014.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A Yezidi mother who is now residing in Canada hopes that she can reunite with her 12-years-old son whom she thought was dead after they were separated three years ago when ISIS attacked the Yezidis in and around Shingal.

Canadian authorities stated that they are aware of the case.
