According to what I am watching on CNN right now, Spicer resigned - he saw the handwriting on the wall - he was dead so he left while he could still walk on two legs.   

Also, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus did not know Trump was bringing on a new guy, until it happened - he was not told.  Priebus should find another job now before his head is lopped off.

Oh come on now.  That analogy is a little harsh, isn't it?   I mean.... equating canning or firing someone (even if they really resigned).... to beheading someone.   Hyperbole ring a bell here?

Most likely because Scaramucci is desperate to have a plum federal office as another trophy for his mantle (same reason Trump wanted the presidency) and if he doesn't get something, then he will have to pay some gargantuan taxes on the gain he realized from selling his interests in skybridge capital; unless he gets a certificate of divestiture he'll have to pay tax; if he gets one he doesn't, and he only gets it if he's a federal official. 

It's a way of rewarding loyalty, not acknowledging skill.
