Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary

WASHINGTON — Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

Mr. Trump offered Mr. Scaramucci the job at 10 a.m. The president requested that Mr. Spicer stay on, but Mr. Spicer told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to a person with direct knowledge of the exchange.

Well, I, for one, liked Sean Spicer.  He had a hard job but he did it well.

I think the leftist press chewed up Spicer and spit him out. He was way too nice to them and they took advantage. He let them ask 3-4 follow-ups of their questions, and hesitant to call them out. He seems like a nice guy and well-meaning, but it was painful to watch the briefings. I wish him well.

Another one has his head cut off by Trump.  The new guy won't fare any better after a period of time because he isn't Trump.  If you are not Trump, Trump will take off your head at some point.

According to what I am watching on CNN right now, Spicer resigned - he saw the handwriting on the wall - he was dead so he left while he could still walk on two legs.   

Also, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus did not know Trump was bringing on a new guy, until it happened - he was not told.  Priebus should find another job now before his head is lopped off.

Not sure, but Scaramucci is not a journalist and is way too close to the kiddies.  He probably curried favor with Trump by his passionate defenses of him, but I'm not sure how competent he is for the task.

Scaramucci is a finance type.  He's apparently been desperately seeking some position with the Trump admin ever since the election (he sold off his interests in Skybridge Capital awhile ago so it wouldn't be a conflict of interest).

This is an odd position to put him into.

I'm trying to keep track here ... has he even filled his cabinet yet?  How many people now has he fired or have resigned in these short 7 months of his presidency? The MSM still hounds him with fake news and the Russian investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile we're still waiting on the wall, healthcare, IRAN deal, economy, jobs, trade negotiations... **nononono*

Melissa Francis of Fox said that if one divested assets to work in the WH, taxes did not have to be paid on the profits. Not certain which positions this applies to or if taxes are eventually paid. Interesting wrinkle.

Politico reported that Priebus and Bannon said Scaramucci would get the job "over their dead bodies." Goodness.

Anthony Scaramucci is now White House Communications director.  Priebus says he supports him 100%.

Holding out hope that Priebus will be shown the door today as well.  One cannot drain the swamp when the principal architect of that swamp is your chief of staff.

   That deal Priebus made with the 'Great Negotiator' to silence Cruz support at the convention and hand him the nomination, really no different than what the DNC did to Bernie, and included giving Spicer the Press Secretary job, among other things, is coming unraveled.  I expect Reince to be next on the chopping block, followed quickly by Sessions, but I'm a pessimist, what do I know other than gloom and doom?

Ben Shapiro is tops, and would be a stellar press secretary... But I predict he would in no way soil himself with an association with Trump's administration. Cruz, maybe (and wouldn't that be a hoot), Trump, not a chance.
