Krauthammer: 'Only a Matter of Time' Before Sessions Quits

Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer said Thursday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation was "only a matter of time" after President Donald Trump attacked him in an interview with The New York Times.

"He doesn't want to resign, but I think this limits his tenure," Krauthammer told Fox News host Chris Wallace. "It's only a matter of time.

"There's a reason presidents generally don't do that.

He liked the Kelo decision, which, while different, still takes away private property not intended for government use.

For the record.... I didn't think Sessions should have recused himself either.  There was NO reason to do so.  Sessions wussed out.   Can't blame Trump for wanting someone with some ballz in that position.  It's a requirement.

It takes more balls to do the right thing and recuse yourself to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, thereby exposing yourself to the wrath of the president who appointed you, than it does to put on borrowed bluster and curry favor with that same president.

You bring up an interesting, somewhat off-topic point.

Why is it incompetent bosses always surround themselves with incompetent boobs?  I think it has a lot to do with the fact that competent people gravitate away from people who are idiots, while at the same time idiots only want yes-men.  It's a symbiotic relationship, and it explains a lot of what goes on in the past couple of White Houses.

Under normal conditions, perhaps yes.  However, this presidency has by no means been or even approached the arena of "normal".  Every single thing that is said or done will be seen through the prism and filter of "impropriety" by the left.  Exposing himself to the wrath of the president is exactly what Sessions did by not even consulting the president, his boss, before making that stupid decision.  Further....recusing himself when there was no legal or ethical reason to do so (ie no evidence whatsoever to warrant it)  just opened the door for more obligatory recusals.  Big mistake, IMO.

To me, the people you list are indistinguishable from "the left."  They have the same tactics, they believe the same things, they want the same things, they want to control the same people, they even drive the same cars.  They're leftists who call themselves conservative Republicans.

You're probably right.  But Xena makes a good point, that his doing so did throw gasoline on the fire, courtesy of the people who hate Trump from both sides.  Don't you think he should have given a heads-up to the boss before doing it, so the boss doesn't get blind-sided?
