Trump especially upset after hearing Mueller would access tax returns: report

President Trump is troubled by the possibility that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia could expand to include an examination of Trump's and his family's finances.

The Washington Post reported late Thursday that the president has been particularly upset by the notion that Mueller could access Trump's personal tax returns, which he has repeatedly declined to release to the public.

Maybe there is a reason in why it is a good idea for candidates to release their tax returns.

I don't know why he would be upset. He told everyone over and over and over there is nothing in them and the only reason he couldn't release them was that he was under audit. He said over and over he would release them otherwise. Truth Teller TrumpTM told us there is nothing bad in them so there is no need to worry. If he said so, that's good enough for everyone.

IF there was absolutely nothing he didn't want to reveal, it would seem to me that he would have released his tax return a long time ago to shut people up.  If it's just a point of contention with him and a matter of principal for him, he needs to get over it and release his last return so we can all move on.

Please don't throw me into that briar patch.

Meanwhile, Trump could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and Mueller would be too tied up in Trump's tax records to do anything about it.
