Taking the stairs may soon get easier
New high-tech steps recycle climbers’ energy, making the ascent less tough.

Does a long staircase leave you weak?

Take heart—researchers say they’ve developed stairs that “recycle” a person’s energy, which could be of help to seniors and disabled people.

The stairs use latched springs to store energy when someone goes down them. The energy is then released when a person climbs the stairs again.

@rangerrebew

At 83, I have no problem going up stairs.  I could run up them.  However, my right knee is bad, little to no cartilage between the two knee bones, had surgery on it some years ago and when I go downstairs, it feels like the two bones are grinding against each other and it is painful.

I think I will sue companies and make them install a slide for me to get downstairs.
