Interesting.  I have pain (sometimes sharp) behind my left eye as well.  I went to a retina specialist and to an ophthalmologist...everything was fine, so I never really said anything to my GP.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It doesn't have a plan.

I refused to sign a DNR for it.

Signing a DNR is a little disquieting, but I did it at the hospital.  And it was planted right over my bed.

The blood clot was on his brain.  They removed the bone above his eye to get to the clot.  They have sent it out to see if it is cancer.

The clot removed on Friday was in the same region where he had a deep melanoma removed years ago.  The results from the tissue sample sent to lab on Friday will most likely determine if McCain returns to the Senate at all.

You can, but what's the point?  I would never wear one were I so minimimally endowed.  Maybe just a little piece of scotch tape if the occasion warranted.

I wish I shared your optimism.  McCain, the traitor, will be back in the Senate after the surgery regardless of the outcome.  He's rotten to the core.  He'll have to die on the table to keep him from his sinecure.  Expect him to continue his backstabbing.

Perhaps not.  It seems that his condition may be more serious than originally reported.  Neurosurgeons interviewed said that the recovery period may be longer; a week to two weeks.  ...."A craniotomy is an opening of the skull, and an eyebrow incision would be used to reach a clot in or near the left frontal lobes of the brain, neurosurgeons who were not involved in Mr. McCain’s care said.

“Usually, a blood clot in this area would be a very concerning issue,” said Dr. Nrupen Baxi, an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City...."

He added, “The recovery time from a craniotomy is usually a few weeks — at least a week or two.”....

.....But many questions have been left unanswered, including whether Mr. McCain had symptoms that prompted doctors to look for the clot. In June, his somewhat confused questioning of James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, led to concerns about his mental status, which he later jokingly dismissed by saying he had stayed up too late watching baseball the night before.

“Usually, a blood clot like this is discovered when patients have symptoms, whether it’s a seizure or headaches or weakness or speech difficulties,” Dr. Baxi said. “Generally, it’s not found on a routine physical because doctors would not know to look for it.”...........

Prayers to Vietnam POW, successor to Senator Barry Goldwater, and a man I still wish had been elected President of the United States in 2008.

Speedy recovery...

@Right_in_Virginia

I rarely agree with you however in this case I think you are correct.

The scenario I see playing out is no action until the end of this Congress and McCain taking the blame by some on the right.

I'm often amused by the keyboard warriors here and elsewhere who would not have survived even a day at the Hanoi Hilton.

I wish him the best as he has given more for this country than most today could even contemplate or survive..

Regadles of the results, he needs to step down.

Fine with me.  I take a lot of heat because AZ keeps reelecting him, despite his voting record, so I think I'm entitled to be a little harsh with him.  Judge away, it won't be the first time somebody does that with me, and not the first for you to judge me, either.

He won't.  That would require a zero pulse.  That much has been obvious about him for the past two elections.

If pathology doesn't indicate any malignancy; other than age, why would he step down?

He'd likely vote with the Dems anyway.

There is that.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.
