The San Diego Comic-Con (which, believe it or not, used to actually feature comic books) is an annual celebrity fest these days. One such notable, Liev Schreiber, was in attendance this year, partly to promote, but also to parent.

Schreiber took his young sons to the entertainment spectacle this year, both in costume. His oldest son, 9-year-old Sasha, went dressed as a Jedi, and his youngest, 8-year-old Kai, decided to channel the unfettered persona of Harley Quinn.

As one would quickly assume, the child’s costume choice and the parent’s willingness to let him go as he pleased, inspired a fair amount of commentary in some circles online.

So not only is he committing child abuse by letting his boy cross dress out in public, he's turning him into pedo bait.

Meh.. Comic-con cosplay, people are all over the map. You'll probably find a dozen girls dressed like Deadpool or Batman too. This isn't new, long history of 'bending' in cosplay. Don't read too much into it.

I thought about that @AbaraXas, like what if 8 year old me wanted to go dressed as Santa Claus or a Dead Pirate Roberts or something?  Probably fine.  But, if I understand this character correctly, she is a trashy, hyper-sexual villain.  Not sure I'd want my kid going as that.  Or, eight year old me.

I'd heard the name, but can't pick him out of a lineup. And I have no idea who or what was Harley Quinn. What sort of emotionally stunted adolescent goes to these events, anyway?
