Chuck Grassley wants to know how Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya was able to enter US for Donald Trump Jr. meeting
Washington Examiner, Jul 11, 2017, Josh Siegel

Sen. Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote a letter Tuesday to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly asking for information on how the Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. was able to enter the U.S.

Grassley, R-Iowa, wrote that the attorney, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was denied a visa before her Jan. 9, 2016 meeting with Trump Jr., in which she was offering "very high level and sensitive information" that would "incriminate" Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president.

Veselnitskaya, however, was granted parole to enter the U.S. sometime in 2015, Grassley said, but her parole status expired Jan. 7, 2016.

According to a chain of emails, Trump Jr. released Tuesday in which he planned the meeting with Rob Goldstone, a British-born former tabloid reporter and entertainment publicist, Veselnitskaya was described to Trump Jr. as a Russian government attorney who could provide information detrimental to Clinton.
