Trump administration has fired more than 500 VA employees since January
by Sarah Westwood | Jul 7, 2017, 12:09 PM

Department of Veterans Affairs officials have fired more than 500 misbehaving employees since January, according to data posted online Friday.

VA Secretary David Shulkin touted his agency's decision to publish its efforts to hold VA employees accountable, unveiling new requirements for updating the public on personnel actions.

"Veterans and taxpayers have a right to know what we're doing to hold our employees accountable and make our personnel actions transparent," Shulkin said in a statement. "Posting this information online for all to see, and updating it weekly, will do just that."

No.
They have been removed from their positions...then re-assigned.

No.

I looked through the report the above article links to. It says "removed" but does not explain what that means.  I strongly suspect that you are right and they have only been removed and reassigned.

Fired does not mean removed and reassigned any more than slowing the rate of growth means cut!

So refreshing to have a CIC that doesn't hate our military (unlike the previous one).... and that seeks to help and respect our military guys and gals.  And that whistle-blower thing will assist in routing out any aholes that also hate our military and/or are harming the military by being corrupt.

In federal personnel lingo, "removed" means "terminated," "fired."

The person is not eligible to be considered for any other federal employment for three years.
If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion,
mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.

Removal

An involuntary separation based on the decision of a Service official exercising delegated authority that terminates the employer-employee relationship. Such action may be based on disciplinary (misconduct) or non disciplinary (inability to perform one's job due to medical conditions) reasons.
