German Chancellor Angela Merkel has hit out at protesters after chaos in the city of Hamburg as thousands of demonstrators clashed with police on the day the G20 summit opened.

US First Lady Melania Trump was earlier trapped inside her hotel after rioters firebombed a police station and set cars and buildings alight in the German city.

Police have called for reinforcements after tens of thousands of protesters descended on Hamburg, causing chaos.

So far, more than 160 officers have been injured as well as dozens of activists. More than 70 protesters have been arrested.

German officials were forced to draft in an additional 900 officers to cope with the violent outbreak, which Mrs Merkel described as 'unacceptable'.

She said: 'I have every understanding for peaceful demonstrations. But violent demonstrations endanger human lives, they endanger people themselves, they put police officers and security forces in danger, put residents in danger, and so that is unacceptable.'

I find this whole thing confusing.   Its my understanding that most of these protesters are leftists.   They are protesting capitalism and the global corporations.  Its the leftist leaders they love that are enabling the power grab by global corporations and he whole globalist movement.

A good portion of the protestors have to be organized by Soros and team.   Is this part of an effort to normalize martial law / a  police state?

Right. They mindlessly protest the very capitalist firms, which pay the taxes to support their socialist (mixed economy) states, including the money they may themselves get from that.
