Of course you are wrong ...  You said: " BUT We Briefers are capable of civil discourse MOST of the Time."  I am forced to amend that ... I would change 'Most' to 'Some.' or even 'Rarely.'

"Rarely?"  Ma'am, if you think the vast majority of threads sink into acrimony, and briefers are incapable of civil discourse, you should probably leave the forum just for your own sanity.

(Kidding aside, I don't believe you really think that.)

The acrimony has been evident for as long as I've been here.  It is, after all, what drove some of us to leave TOS.  .../

Yes, there has been significantly more acrimony here.  I remember a long time when it wasn't this way.  If you remember it being so for as long as you've been here @XenaLee you must have come in as part of the great flood of unvetted refugees.  A flood with a majority of people "traumatized" by the "harsh abuse" "suffered" at TOS who entered this world angry with their shields up and swords at the ready to use against anyone who disagreed with them.

And I can judge this.  I've been a member since May 2009.  That flood caused a lot of smart, good people to flee.  I still miss their  camaraderie, their insights, their humor .... but have finally stopped hoping they will return. And this is a shame.

I know quite a few people who long for "the good old days."  Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Since there are a number of old-timers who can't stand Trump, I'd say your memory of how "never Trumpers" ruined the forum is somewhat faulty.

TOS shutting down rational debate bothered me so much I picked up my keyboard and left, being a Free Man in a Free Society and all, so my question to you is: If this place bothers you so much @Right_in_Virginia why are you here, I do value your input but your whining about the fairness of it all here seems incessant and IMHO counter productive.

PS: I got here about a year after you did (12/11) and I just don't see it the way you do, never did.

I am probably more idiotmatic (when you say the the first thing that pops into your head and it is probably the last thing you should say), in some ways, than the POTUS. I don't try to be mean. I'll repeat something I said on another thread. Being POTUS is a black tie affair. I expect them to be respectful in that sense. You don't show up in undersized shorts showing you're nuts.

I think the vast, and I mean vast, majority of the people in this country have lost their spiritual minds. It shows in so many ways. In so many aspects of life.

This is a good forum. You can fix your replies. Ignore people. Ignore topics. The best part is you can develop a good rapport with people. That is something I don't do very well so maybe I place more importance on that.

I think all of us are disappointed about some of the things that are going on .... some that have gone on for years, particularly the 8 years of Obama.

You're OKAY, I'm Okay ... wasn't there a book about that.

I don't but I will say ... it's hard to find a long thread without some acrimony and insults along the way but nobody's actually harmed anyone as far as I know.

I cannot disagree with that.  Not even a little.  When I see a thread over 25 pages (I parse 25 posts per page), there's guaranteed trouble in it somewhere.  Over 40 and there's at least one post from a Mod.

Transactional Analysis.  I read the book, back in the 70's.  It was interesting.

So....let me get this straight.  You are, in your usual passive aggressive, condescending and tactless manner...

calling me an "unvetted refugee".... and are essentially blaming me (along with the others from TOS) for those "smart, good people" leaving here.  Have I got that about right?

Let me go on record here....

You are about the nastiest poster I've met yet .... in almost two decades....that is supposedly on the right.  And trust me...

you've had some VERY stiff competition.

@corbe sadly there are people here that would prefer us to be more like TOS and shut down rational debate because some of it is critical of their hero.

If memory serves, I think the person in reference had Pro-Trump Only safe-spaces designated for discussion during the last election cycle, the Debates from the Primary on to the general especially.  They routinely jumped on regular threads all of us were on to thrash those of us critical of Trump and run back to retreat to snark and snide about us in the safety of their safe space while gushing about their Champion.

So it's the same crap as always, different month.  Bitching and whining about the board, the moderating and the members from aggrieved Trump supporters is just what one comes to expect these days.

Hey @Right_in_Virginia luckily for you, I just so happen to know of another forum where no dissent against Lord Trump is allowed.   You'd probably LOVE it! i just don't understand why you put up with it here if you hate it (and us) so.
