Cognitive thinking is apparently not your strong suit.
I had the same accounting professor for over 30 semester hours. His tests were all essay...five questions, of which the answers to at least two questions would start with, "based on the information you've given, I cannot answer this question." From there, you would have to discuss your answer in detail.
Providing the professor with an appropriate answer required a lot more than 140 characters.
The real challenge is distilling an answer to 144 characters. Effective headlines and soundbites, tell stories in the attention span many will focus on them.
The point is to influence their beliefs, and urge them to action. College professors often teach, because they fold in the reality of the real world.
Boss says "get me the best answer possible, by 5 PM today." One type of analyst/accountant says "I can't do a thorough, technically perfect analysis, by then. Boss says "well get me somebody else that can hear. I said get me the best answer by 5 pm."
e.g. Don't tell me what you can't do, tell me what you can do.
