Journalists reacted in horror Sunday morning after President Trump tweeted a fake video that showed him body-slamming “fraud news” CNN in a fake wrestling match.

While many of the president’s supporters online reacted to the video with humor, the consensus among journalists seemed to be that Trump was inciting violence against the media.

Well he's certainly doubling down on the Presidency-as-reality-show shtick.    Or, hell, let's be honest,  he views the Presidency as his own wrestling soap opera.   This is a fued between Trump and Mika,  between Trump and CNN, between hero and heel   You're hit, you strike back.   It's cartoon violence.

And of course now the media reacts in hands-thrown-up moral horror.   A cartoon reaction to cartoon violence.

Yes, you understand what he is.  As to the film, people on the borderline of sanity, will see this film as telling them to attack reporters.  What the president says/does "means things".  This is not Joe next door, this is the president of the United States attacking a reporter.  Millions will see that not as a joke, but as an order to do an attack of some kind against reporters.  Trump says over and over the media is our enemy and here he is physically attacking one.

What will tomorrow's tweet be? and the next one and the next one the rest of his presidency?

He is giving his opponents exactly what they want. The media acts shocked and upset, but they want this kind of reaction and are constantly poking him to get it. This gets them a lot more ratings and attention than if he just did the boring, mundane, stuff that is his actual job.

He is basically feeding his enemy Trump Steaks.

You understand they aren't really horrified. They are acting it for the cameras, but in reality, you can bet the house they are cheering every time he does this. It gets them stories and viewers. This stuff is better than a missing airliner to them.

Why would an even half-way intelligent president do that?   For that matter.... why would ANYone do that.... unless they were really not that bright....
or were mentally unstable?

Is it just the desperate need for attention, any attention, even if/when it's negative attention?  And if so, doesn't that equate to a president that is unbalanced?

No one caught the extreme irony of Trump using a wrestling video to poke the media? Wrestling, WWE? Get it?


He is demonstrating the game he is playing and how utterly fake the MSM is. He is Hulk Hogan and the MSM is Andre the Giant. They are both playing off each other. And the whole thing is scripted.


Trump is just playing games with them. Just like a guy teasing a cat with a laser pointer.

Of course I understand it. I understand that the fourth estate is fifth column. I just really appreciate how the shitshow in D.C. and the shitshow media have combined to produce the greatest shitshow this country has ever seen. Makes me proud to be an American, ya know.

I still have contacts in the media from my days there, as well as often being interviewed since then.  What yiu say is very true. It's an interesting split...not just public vs private, but personally vs professionally. 

Personally, they hate the man because hes so loathsome. Professionally, thoigh, they love him because he helps support them and their agenda in the long run.

Yep, simply put, if you don't want the beast to grow, don't feed the beast. If Trump just sat down and did his actual job (you know, the one outlined in the job description in the Constitution), they would barely have a story- like trying to report on an accountant filling out spreadsheets.

Trump is feeding the beast daily and helping it grow. He is giving them constant headlines and attention.

And in turn, they are feeding him, poking and prodding for more reactions.

It will become a never ending cycle. The media won't stop because their job is ratings. That's how you hurt them, don't give them Idiocracy headlines.

Gotta agree.  MSNBC, CNN and NPR have devolved to the "Bash Trump" networks 24/7.  They are all showing the public their total devotion to a particular political orientation, and they have long stopped disguising it.  In the long run, I applaud this development because the MSM has pretty much lost all credibility.  People see them as providing porn for progressive wet dreams, and nothing more.

In the meantime, Trump has one little tweet that has no authority and no one in the GOP takes seriously.  He uses it to stir the hornet's nest, and quite effectively.  Hope he keeps it up.
