Have you ever been into Hell on Wheels?   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1699748/

There is a character called The Swede who mirrors Simcoe.   Great series btw.  Favorite episode Thirteen Steps.

Maybe I see too much of The Swede in Simcoe.   But then again, I'm naturally inclined to root for the Home team when watching historical colonial drama/action...not for the Queen's Rangers, aka Black Ops.

@DCPatriot

Never watched Hell On Wheels...that was AMC, too, right?  Do you recommend?

The Queen's Rangers still exist today as a special forces team.  I like several of the Loyalists in TURN---Simcoe, Andre, Peggy Shippen, Hewlett before he became a wuss and let Anna ruin his career.  And I can't stand Abe.  I like that the show doesn't portray the Brits as black villains, yet never once lets you forget whose cause is the right one.

He's not a Christian and he knows it. He consciously chooses to be a charlatan with zero concern for his final judgement. That alone tells me he has no belief in God.

Same with Trump himself. He claims that he's never had to ask God for forgiveness because he's never done anything wrong. Like all Fabian socialists he elevates himself in stature to rival God.

Are we not gods in the making? Fabian George Bernard Shaw

More to the point, it is the same sort of plastic banana, shallow depth nonsense pimping this 'prophet' to Christians, as the nonsense pimping Trump as a Conservative.

Christians ought to know better. They are commanded to TEST prophets, and only listen to those that are TRUE.

Even as Conservatives used to test their candidates before endorsement.

His 'test' failed AFAIC.  Asserting God is changing this nation from the top down for good by using an unrepentant self-absorbed narcissist is not only unbiblical - it's totally anathema to our history.

I'm more inclined to think God is simply doing what He has always done - letting a wayward people who have abandoned Him do what is right in their own eyes, choose their own way and eat the fruits thereof which bring misery, death and destruction.

Right. Free will. The election of trump changes the timeline a bit. That is all.

That's old-fashioned Puritanism dontcha know.

Reality is the need to get behind listening to and choosing the lesser of evils as our savior without regard to their fruits and past beliefs and statements.  Tell us smooth and easy things.. tell us what we want to hear and remind us no more of the Holy One of Israel.

Because... payback and because... the other is worse and because... payback...

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Free will to choose God or damnation is essential to being a Christian. That same free will is at the very core of what America is.

God won't damn America but those mortals who reject him will. Fortunately God doesn't do collective salvation or damnation and your soul and my soul are completely unfettered by those who sell their own.Pope Benedict correctly called collective salvation a demonically inspired notion. Its the idea that taxes paid to take care of the poor will save the soul of all but it leads to the false belief that our souls are saved so we no longer need to worry about it.

The fact is that many of those who became the enemy had contributed greatly to the formation of America prior to the beginning of the war.

Robert Rodgers became the enemy yet to this day Rodgers Rules of Ranging are used by our military.

'Trump prophet': God changing America from top down
6 years ago foresaw election, now predicts Supreme Court upheaval
Published: 9 hours ago

Retired firefighter Mark Taylor predicted what almost no political expert in the entire world saw as even a remote possibility when he declared God had appointed Donald J. Trump as the next president of the United States.

Now, in his new book, Taylor says President Trump, with God’s help, is going to massively remake the federal government, starting with the Supreme Court.

“God is beginning to make changes from the top down,” Taylor writes in “The Trump Prophecies.” And he argues it is the power of prayer that is driving so many of these changes.

Maybe like a prophet proclaiming Pontius Pilate and Herod would change salvation from the top down.
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American peoples liberty teeth and keystone under independence. George Washington

Absolutely recommend Hell on Wheels!

It was one of the first Western genre series I enjoyed on Netflix.  Also, the early seasons of Longmire are very good.

...until they made a bleeping bleep out of Walter.

I watched the entire latest season of TURN on Netflix over a weekend.  Better than any first run movie.

The series portrayed General Benedict Arnold very sympathetically, IMO.

But the feminine personalty...okay, brown-wrapper bitchiness was too much.

Very uncomfortable with that character.  Adds evidence to the claim of wussification of the white American Male's place in history.

See, that's part of the shtick... They equate Trump to Cyrus, whom Yahweh foreknew hundreds of years before the fact... A great profane emperor, and not a believer... That God used anyway to the benefit of Israel.

This is a dangerous thing.

You are right, but your point is wrongly made, IMHO. This is about judgement against a nation, which IS collective, and which hinges upon a whole people being either repentant or unrepentant.

Trump can be seen to be a lot of things, but it is self evident he is not leading this nation to repent. Quite the opposite.

Its a great way of making excuses for even the worst behavior.

The old saying that Bill Clinton could rape children on the lawn of the white house and he wouldn't be impeached. It could easily be explained away as God's will that those children be raped for the greater good of America.

Dangerous indeed.

Right, but that is part of the shtick, as I said upthread - These prophecies compare him to Cyrus - A pagan king who helps Israel...

You and i know better, but someone has to to do a clinical analysis of this prophet and lift it up before the Church. Show WHY it is false. That is not being done, to my knowledge. Everywhere you look in prophetic circles, this guy is being lauded. it is STRANGE.

Oh right... sorreee... sometimes I start listening to Yah again and I sag, and my foot starts dragging in the gravel under the TrumpTrain, trying it seems, of it's own volition, to get me to jump off...

But then I remember, we're supposed to listen to Trump, not Yahweh...

Okay, going to keep both of those shows in mind.  Thanks.

TURN is an incredible show.  My husband said last night that the first season started out a little slow as it laid out the characters and events, but that each subsequent season was like a rock rolling downhill, picking up speed.  I wish AMC had given it halfway decent promotion.

You think TURN feminizes Arnold?  Hmm.  Interesting take.  I see him as masculine, but with an explosive anger problem and an ego that just turns everything into a personal attack.

IOW...a devious drama queen who was 'promised' reimbursement for salary and expenses in previous campaigns, who was smitten with 'a wack-job named Peggy', because she came from old money and he thought it would command respect.

LOL!  It wasn't how the Jesuits told me it happened.

Well, when you put it that way, yeah, lol.  Except for Peggy---my girl is stealth. Don't mess with her.

TURN does take some liberties with history, but it's so damn good!
