That fits, unfortunately. The Obama Administration was thick with CYA assets in positions that could keep anything from ever being scrutinized or prosecuted if it did not serve the purposes of the administration.

While FBI Director carries a bit of prestige on the resume, perhaps Mr. Comey's assets and finances should be given a look. too.

Note that any investigation will be characterized as a partisan hack job (Projection, it's what Dems would do), but having kept Comey on the payroll might shield against the 'partisan' allegations.

It is a positive statement no matter who wrote it and does not tell these people to commit crime.

He is keeping the MSM from doing much besides obviously petty malice, which has turned them into Saturday Night Live 24/7 if there isn't some other overwhelming story to break the scuffle up on the playground.

But I see that as the hand the illusionist wants the crowd to watch.

It's the other hand I'm worried about, the one that does the sleight of hand, and makes the 'trick' work.

If I had more trust that what the other hand is doing was beneficial for the Republic, I might be more relaxed about it. However I have little faith in the GOP except to perpetuate the big government programs the Dems put in place while delivering a wad of excuses designed to placate the voters again.

Only this time, I don't think so many are going to swallow that line like they did in 2012, 2014, and 2016, because the GOP is out of excuses. No more raises, no more bluffs, it's time to see some cards, and they are balking at that.
Add in the number of people who discovered how absolutely liberating it is to vote for people who stand for what you believe in--and for the most part, I don't mean Republicans, (and definitely no one further Left), and the GOP has one shot at this.

Time for them to earn their pay. If the tweetscreen helps, fine. If not, let's look at the Congress while the dog and pony show is going on in the center ring.
