Phoenix, AZ – The nanny/security state has reared its ugly head, again — this time in the form of a new law that requires passengers in a vehicle to carry identification – with violators facing up to four months in jail and a $750 dollar fine.

Last week, HB 2305 was introduced by Rep. Anthony Kern (R-Dist. 20), in hopes of reinstating an Arizona law that was struck down in 2002 after a judge ruled the statute as too vague to enforce......

Here is the bill. It is amending the identify rules for drivers to also require passengers to provide identification when demanded.

Papiere Bitte.

Like imbeciles we thought that something like that could never happen here.

Illustrates how far we have fallen.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It's amazing what sort of stuff you get with a heavily red... or heavily blue legislature.

It seems that allows the politicians to pander to those that fund their campaigns and not the voters (ie: I can do anything, for the voters vote on party lines, no matter what).  But when the numbers are close... they are reminded that they can lose if they don't cater to those that can turf them out.

Tribal loyalty in politics is a cancer in this country.

Testy much? Reagan was admirable all on his own. Unfortunately, the Party hasn't lived up to that. Not his fault, he tried to show them how it's done.

For certain the party been disappointing. Reagan accomplished good things, with divided government. There were once conservatives in the democrat party.

A Republican majority is NOT a conservative majority. More so in the House, but less so in the Senate.

There is greater dependency on government, than during Reagan's time. More for people to "lose," which makes the democrats and phony Republican's jobs more easy.

Nearly 8 years of free health insurance, and now Collins and Heller, worry about losing democrat voters-since their constituency votes thusly.

Not to mention "leaders" like Kasich that cannot say no, to government goodies and handouts.
